Food Service Initatives

A part of ALFON’s mission is inspired by the development of our Community Kitchens & outreach division. We are dedicated in our organization’s responsibility to put our resources, volunteers, and skills to use to support our local communities and food dessert areas of our area. If home in where the heart is, we are confident that a warm meal is not too far away. We pride ourselves in ensuring the people and families we serve also have food in their homes. Within our community kitchen we prepare meals and deliver to well deserved families.

In addition, we are primed and ready to assist in natural and emergency disasters. Once deployed, our team of chefs prepare quality meals on a mass scale for victims, first responders and volunteers. We strive to be one of the first organizations to arrive following a major weather event and stay as long as needed to meet the needs of a devastated community.

Supported Employment

ALFON offers a successful Supported Employment Program to help businesses thrive while providing long-term jobs in community settings for people with disabilities.

The program is designed to support mild to severe disabilities by providing skilled Employment Specialists and individualized assessments, on-site job training, long-term supervision, and support to the individuals with disabilities and those who employ them. Employment Specialists continue to provide follow-along services, including periodic counseling, phone calls to the employer and the employee, and continued on-site training as needed.

We provide Supported Employment opportunities at job locations across Hampton Roads. People with disabilities in ALFON’s Supported Employment program has helped The General Public thrive.
